Golden Echo is an attractive four-year-old filly. She won her last start on the Flat at Hamilton on 13 July in good style for her previous connections and was subsequently bought privately by Owners Group. A lightly-raced, good-looking filly, Golden Echo has been purchased with a view to her pursuing a hurdling career. She is by Arc hero, Golden Horn, who has become a hugely popular Jumps sire over the past couple of years. He has also sired some high-class Flat performers, such as Group 2 winner, Trawlerman.
Golden Echo is to be trained by Anthony Honeyball, from his Potwell Farm Stables in Dorset. Anthony is one of the most astute trainers in the country and has enjoyed plenty of success over the years, including with Owners Group horses Paris Dixie, Farouk De Cheneau and, most recently, Glynn.
Golden Echo looks an ideal type to make the switch to hurdling and has size, scope, and a solid temperament. She will hopefully be able to make a start in novice hurdles this side of Christmas.
“I am very much looking forward to training Golden Echo. She has shown a decent amount of ability on the Flat and we are looking forward to seeing what she can achieve over hurdles.” Anthony Honeyball.
